Brain scales

Hannah came home from school last week with more gems of information. This one was courtesy of Hayden – a resident bully:

"If you hit your head really hard – on accident or on purpose – you’ll kill a thousand or a hundred brain scales!"

Thanks Hayden. Now Hannah doesn’t want to sleep in her new loft bed, since she hits her head a lot. Weeks of convincing her that she's ok to sleep in her room since it was too cold for spiders to get her have now been rendered useless... Awesome. I tried to convince her that she's still young, so her brain scales are tougher and will regenerate just fine, but she still slept in Mommy's bed last night. She claimed that she just wanted to snuggle, but I think it may be related to her fears about the status of her brain scales. Great...

PS – I chose not to correct her on the use of brain “scales.” Let's be honest - it’s funnier this way.

Which reminds me... When you brought Hannah downstairs after I watched her last Tuesday, I was sitting in the office, and suddenly I heard a THUMP, THUMP. I'm guessing she was still asleep while trying to get into bed.
