Argh...

Hi friends... Sorry for my prolonged absence. I started class again on 2/26 (Happy Birthday Nancy!) - and now that I'm in my core classes, I actually have to meet in the classroom each week. So, my schedule has altered a bit. And then, last Monday, I pulled an all-nighter to write a paper on Sigmund Freud - finished typing it at 3am and fell into bed. Then I had to get up by 7am to get Hannah ready for school and get myself to work. So, after just about 4 hours of sleep and a full day's work, I headed to class in Taylorsville (near SLC). After 4 hours of class and in-depth discussions about chapters I didn't get to finish reading, as well as presenting our papers in class, I ended up getting home just before 11pm.

I carried a sleeping Hannah downstairs and got her into bed, only to discover that one of the hot water heaters had overflowed (or something) and my apartment had begun to flood while I was gone. Luckily I caught it much sooner than last year's massive flood, but there was still water in Hannah's room, my closet, and the makeshift pantry at the bottom of the stairs. I'm just glad that after last year's disaster, I didn't have any boxes of photos or books sitting on the floor of the utility room... So after a long day, and just three days after finally getting things tidied up in Hannah's room and the living room, I got to destroy all my hard work. I had to move everything that was by the washer and "pantry" into the living room, empty Hannah's just-straightened bookshelf and move it to the center of her room along with the blankets and pillows stacked in her closet, move my now-wet stack of sorted papers-to-be-filed, and toss things out of the way, to avoid the vicious water... My unopened box of laundry detergent probably needs to be thrown away, but I'm holding out hope that some of it will still be good. Nancy and Will came down and seemed to get the heater itself taken care of, and mopped up a ton of water while I was moving things around, but I still fell asleep that night with the smell of old, wet carpet. This morning, I was walking around getting ready, and I think Hannah's room and my closet are finally drying out a bit, so that's good. I'm hoping that I can start moving things back in the next week or so...

But I found a silver lining! Despite my semi-conscious state of mind during my early-morning writing, I still pulled out a 100% on my paper! Yay me!

So now, I'm writing our team paper comparing and contrasting the views of Freud, Jung, Adler and James on human nature and the effects of life experiences, as well as their differing views on methods of therapy. It's due tomorrow. I've got a good outline, though, and I've already written our thesis and introduction, but I didn't get anyone's notes or references until last night around 10pm. Now I just have to put all the meat into the paper... I think that's what I'll be doing over lunch today. Awesome.

Holy craziness, thank you for reminding me why I haven't gone back to College yet. You been one busy woman. I didn't know you had a flood in your apartment last year and this year. I think it is time for a new waterheater or something. Ya wet carpet is not a good thing. You'll want to make sure that there isn't any mold growing. Yucky Yuck Yuck. Good luck on your paper. You will do fantastic as always. I think you have really found your nitch in life. Keep up the good work. I will pray for very good sleep for you over the next few days.

It sounds like lots of fun! Be sure there is no mold because it is very dangerous to breathe. Most carpet cleaning companies have dehumidfyer machines that will get rid of the moisture. You could call the fire department for a referral too.
You are doing so well with school.....funny how when life was easy and you didn't have a child you couldn't get around to making good with school. Add a bunch of stress and here you are....excelling.
Brett just got an "A" in his law class....killer work load. Now he has a philosophy class....he says a real yawner....but only three more weeks and he is done..........the only way to go!

Can you imagine what a mess you would have had if you hadn't just cleaned?

Keep smiling!
